HMC believes that good health is the foundation on which personal, social, academic and economic successes are built. In turn, national health, safety and security are positively affected. We are a model Health Promotion Organization (HPO) redefining the core value of wellness by asserting that life is health and health is a social right. Health is defined holistically based on the World Health Organization’s view that health encompasses one’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being in relation to the individual, society and environment. Our vision is to achieve health equity and social justice where everyone matters.

We acknowledge that the wellness of children is a marker for the wellness of a nation. We advocate a healthy lifestyle by empowering individuals through educational, training and outreach programs. Our service delivery framework utilizes health coaches to “walk the talk” recognizing the importance of modeling healthful behaviors. Our community and school-based programs integrate partners working at all levels in an intergenerational, multicultural approach to achieve our ultimate goal of encouraging life-long healthy habits.
